/ 06:47 AM August 14, 2011

JONEL Mendoza, editor-in-chief of the Front Runner Magazine, will head another challenging running event dubbed “Warrior 50,” a 50-kilometer race to start at the Be Resort in Mactan on Sept. 10.

This will be the third time Mendoza will organize a long-distance running event here. His first ultramarathon was held last November.  The second was the Coast-to-Coast 65k run last summer. The Warrior 50 running event’s route  will pass through the towns of Cordova, Consolacion, Liloan and the cities of Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue.

Mendoza and race director Raffy Uytiepo have come up with 60 runners as of this writing. But they are expecting to draw around a hundred, with some runners coming from Davao, Cagayan De Oro, Manila and Zamboanga.

Registration fee is pegged at P900 that includes multi-vitamin supplement, runner’s jersey, medal and hydration. Registration area is at the RUNNR at the Ayala Center Cebu./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
