Cebu police monitoring call centers for online fraud

MORE outbound call center companies will be placed under surveillance in the wake of last week’s raid of a company engaged in Internet fraud in barangay Luz, Cebu City.

Senior Insp. Michael Vertudazo of the Cebu police’s Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) said they received reports of companies similar to  Interface Techno-Phils. Inc. that are duping online customers with various money scams.

“Naa tay mga gipang panin-an nga involved gihapon sa Internet crime (We have been monitoring those companies engaged in Internet crime),” said Vertudazo, who led last week’s operation against Interface Techno-Phil, Inc. in barangay Luz.

Rolando Hornales, executive vice president of Interface Techno-Phils. Inc., posted bail.
