Tutor, Monjas win 6k crowns in Primary Homes Fun Run

CRISTY Tutor and Bonifacio Monjas claimed the top spots in the 6-kilometer race of yesterday’s Primary Homes Fun Run that started and ended  at at the Sumilon Road at the Cebu Business Park.

Tutor logged a time of 31 minutes and 17 seconds to rule the women’s division while Monjas finished in 22 minutes and 18 seconds to top the men’s race.

Luzelle Ruiz finished second to Tutor, as she  clocked 32 minutes and 54 seconds while Maria Fe Hernane rounded off the top three female runners by posting a time of 33 minutes and 14 seconds.

Adonis Singson clocked 23 minutes and 57 seconds to wind up second in the men’s race while Jeffrey Codino placed third with a time of 24 minutes and 21 seconds.

The 3k category was ruled by Ando Mejares (men’s) and Mary Joy Loberanis (women’s).

Mejares clocked 10:14 while Loberanis  finished in 11:40 to take the men’s and women’s title, respectively.

Jory Ycong (10:18)  and John Paulo Ernane (13:16) finished second and third, respectively in the men’s side.  Kimberly Anne Ygot took second place honors in the women’s race with a time of 14 minutes and 10 seconds while Monica Cuizon placed third, clocking 14 minutes and 43 seconds.

The running event was organized by Primary Homes and handled by race director Joel Baring of Sports and Fitness Enthusiasts (SAFE).

There was also a separate 6k category for accredited brokers.

Winners were Ralph Arche (24:44) for the men’s side and Merlita Dunkin (35:56) in the women’s race.

Nars Jumunong and Lodivino Alvez trailed Arche in the men’s race while Sheila Alvez and Christine Redira placed second and third in the distaff side, respectively./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
