Armed men snatch wife of Marine officer in Jolo

ZAMBOANGA CITY – The wife of a Marine officer was abducted in Jolo, Sulu on Saturday morning, the military said Sunday.

Colonel Jose Johriel Cenabre, commander of the 2nd Marine Brigade and chief of the Joint Task Force Sulu, said the 41-year old victim, Casilda Villarasa, was with her 9-year-old daughter Valeria when abducted by armed men in Asturias village.

The victims were on their way to Integrated Provincial Hospital (IPHO) in Jolo at around 6:30 a.m.

“The daughter managed to run away from the armed men and reported the incident,” Cenabre said, adding that Villarasa was dragged into a parked getaway vehicle.

The victim is the wife of Sgt. Faustino Villarasa, who works as medical technologist at the IPHO.
