Pagara confident of beating Herrera in main tiff of PP20

JASON “El Niño” Pagara (30-2, 19KOs) is winding down in his preparations for the upcoming defense of his WBO International light welterweight title against Mexico’s Aaron “La Hoya” Herrera (25-1, 17 KOs) at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino on May 25.
Pagara spent Thursday afternoon at the ALA Gym sparring with stablemate Joseph Von Miñoza. Pagara told CDN after his training session that this was his final sparring session and he will be tapering down in his training eight days before the fight.
“I have seen the fight films of my opponent and studied his style,”  Pagara said. “He is good but I will try my best to win by knockout.”
Pagara was also confident that he will have no problems during the official weigh-in. “I am just three pounds over the limit,” he revealed.
Pagara vs. Herrera will be the main event fight in the Pinoy Pride: ‘Laban Kung Laban.’
Also sparring with their stablemates at the ALA Gym were undefeated Genesis “Azukal” Servania (19-0, 7 KOs) and crafty veteran Jimrex “Executioner” Jaca (37-6-3, 21 KOs).
