Blue wins, ties Green on top of Rama hoop

THE Blue Ice Dragon led by high-leaping center Filmar Cacharro beat Pink Panthers, 87-81, Thursday night for its 5th win in seven games (5-2) to share the lead with Green Lantern which earlier lost to Maroon in the Juniors Division of the CEKALCO-2013 Mayor Mike Rama Cup Inter-color basketball tournament.
Pink Panthers led, 24-21 in the opening period but Blue unloaded a, 28-14 bomb in the second to grab an 11-point lead, 49-38, at the half, then maintained its double-digit lead, 68-54, entering the final quarter.
In the fourth, Pink Panthers outscored Blue, 27-19 but fell short of snatching the win.
Filmar Cacharro scattered a game-high 41 points to power Blue while Siboy Condrilon paced Pink (1-6) with 37 markers.
Earlier, Maroon nosed out undermanned Green Lantern, 79-73, for its 4th win in seven games, while the latter remained on top despite the loss with a 5-2 card.
Edward Romariz and Rogen Rosales led Maroon with 18 points apiece while Opoy Escolar paced Green with 24 markers.
