MANILA, Philippines — The United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) coalition on Wednesday said it was alarmed by information that a Smartmatic officer has manipulated data from the unofficial count of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).
In a statement, UNA campaign manager Toby Tiangco said that the opposition received information that a Smartmatic personnel identified as Daton Cerino manipulated data being churned out by the poll watchdog at the Pope Pius Center 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
“This is highly irregular and raises suspicions on the integrity of the ongoing count,” he said.
PPCRV chair Henrietta de Villa said that the poll watchdog has received complaints from both the Liberal Party and UNA and assured that they were looking into the matter.
