Estrada, Moreno proclaimed winners in Manila

MANILA, Philippines – Former President Joseph Estrada and incumbent Vice Mayor Francisco Domagoso or Isko Moreno were proclaimed winners of the mayoral and vice mayoral races in Manila by the City Board of Canvassers around noon Tuesday.

Both are running under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA).

CBOC chairman Jayvee Villagracia said the Commission on Elections issued a resolution to proclaim the two with 97.16 percent of certificates of canvass (CoCs) transmitted.

“Ibabalik ko ang sigla ng Maynila [I will restore Manila’s vigor],” Estrada said in a speech.

Estrada got 343,993 votes while Lim received 308,544. Moreno won with 395,156 over Councilor Lou Veloso’s 234,256.

Trisha Bonoan, Amado Bagatsing, and Sandy Ocampo were also proclaimed winners of the congressional seats for Manila’s District 4, 5 and 6, respectively. Tetch Torres, INQUIRER.net
