Cayetano at third; Escudero drops to fourth in Senate tally

MANILA, Philippines — Reelectionist Alan Peter Cayetano surged ahead of another reelectionist, Francis “Chiz” Escudero, in the senatorial race, according to the latest partial and unofficial tally of an election watchdog on Tuesday.

Cayetano is now in third place with 12,479,972 votes, switching places with Escudero, who dropped to fourth with 12,479,416 votes, according to the 9:01 a.m. update of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).

Meanwhile, Grace Poe is still at first place with 14,424,177 votes ahead of Loren Legarda, who has 13,177,542 votes. The fifth to 12th places remain unchanged.

At least 52, 318 of 78166 clustered precincts have been counted.
