Pasargad logs 2nd win in UFL Youth football

Pasargad FC nailed its second win in a row in the Under 17 category of the UFL Youth League after outsmarting Agila FC, 5-3, at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig City.

Agila FC scored the first goal but Pasargad FC, manned by the core members of the Little Azkals, leveled the match a few minutes later on Darius Joseph “Jed” Diamante’s clinical finish of a combination with Iani Miranda in the penalty box.

Pasargad FC took a 2-1 lead with Younousse Yaogo finding the back of the net within the added time before halftime.

In the second half, Pasargad FC stretched its advantage to 3-1 courtesy of Jeremiah “JB” Borlongan, who faked Agila FC’s goalie after picking up a good combination pass from Yaogo.

Moiselle Angelo “MoiMoi” Alforque put Pasargad FC beyond reach at 4-1 when he snatched the ball from behind the defender inside the penalty box.

Agila FC managed to sneak in a goal to slice the lead to 2-4 but Yaogo contributed another goal to pad Pasargad FC’s advantage. Agila FC scored another goal but time had run out on them.

Pasargad FC head coach Eleazar Toledo said his team started slow because the turf was so hot and they were not used to it.

According to Toledo, the team still had a good performance but they need to tackle their lapses and correct them in their next game.

“We need an adjustment in our defending line, we have to go back to training and run it again, because they lost the game plan,” Toledo said.
