All set for Palawan net

The country’s premier grassroots tennis tournament rolls into Cebu as the Palawan Pawnshop age-group tennis circuit presented by Babolat resumes this weekend at the Consolaction Tennis Club.

This weekend’s competition is the first of two Group 2 tournaments here in Cebu with a packed field expected to compete for titles and crucial ranking points.  Following the tournament in Consolacion, the Mactan Island Lawn Tennis Club takes its turn on May 22 to 26.

The age groups on tap are 10-unisex, and the boys and girls’ 12-U, 14-U, 16-U and 18-U categories.

The nationwide age-group circuit also serves as the regional tournament program for children put up to address the need for a grassroots tennis centered on values formation.
