MANILA, Philippines—Allies of President Benigno Aquino III continued to lead the senatorial race for the 2013 midterm elections, with nine taking over out of 12 slots as of Tuesday morning, based on partial and unofficial results of election watchdog Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting.
The names in the top 12 remained unchanged since PPCRV started transmitting results at 7:20 p.m. Monday.
Grace Poe of Team PNoy, former chairperson of Movie and Television Review and Classification Board and daughter of the late action star and Presidential candidate Fernando Poe Jr., has 14,142,601 votes as of 5:21 a.m. Tuesday.
The PPCRV has so far transmitted results from 50,977 of 78,166 precincts at 5:21a.m.
Poe is now leading with more than one million votes from consistent second placer re-electionist senator Loren Legarda, also of Team PNoy, with 12,903,749 votes.
There are nine Aquino bets in the top 12, with three coming from United Nationalist Alliance endorsed by Vice President Jejomar Binay.
The rest of the winning candidates from Team PNoy based on the partial and unofficial results are re-electionist senators Chiz Escudero, Alan Peter Cayetano, Koko Pimentel, Antonio Trillanes IV; Aurora Representative Sonny Angara; presidential nephew Bam Aquino; Las Piñas Representative Cynthia Villar.
Nancy Binay, daughter of Vice President Jejomar Binay, leads the winning UNA bets at the fifth spot with 11,474,694 votes.
Other senatorial candidates from UNA that are in the top 12 include San Juan Representative JV Ejercito Estrada at eleventh spot and re-electionist senator Gringo Honasan at twelfth spot with 9,184,994 votes.
Meanwhile, former Senator Richard Gordon is at the 13th spot with 8,819,345 votes, while former senator Migz Zubiri is at the 14th spot.
Cagayan Representative Jack Enrile and former senator Ramon Magsaysay exchanged spots, with the former now at 15th spot with 7,926,939 votes and the latter 16th place with 7,917,404 votes.
