Bautista, Belmontes, Vargas headed for wins in QC
MANILA, Philippines—Reelectionist Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista is headed for a landslide win in Quezon City, based on partial results from the counting of votes by the Commission on Elections as of 11:15 p.m. on Monday.
Bautista had 524,835 votes as of late Monday night, 10 times the votes of Johnny Chang who had 51,082 and miles ahead of Henry Samonte who had 23,251 votes.
It was likewise a walk in the park for reelectionist Vice Mayor Joy Belmonte who had 528,912 votes, far ahead of Rolando Jota who had 36,913.
Speaker Feliciano Belmonte, who was seeking reelection in congressional District 4 had 89,757, far ahead of his rival, Hans Palacios, who had over 9,000 votes.
Actor Alfred Vargas now appears headed to Congress as he swept away his rivals in District 5 with 65,080 votes.
