Poe remains on top early Tuesday

MANILA, Philippines— As election returns breached 50 per cent in the first hour of Tuesday, the senatorial candidates’ ranking remained unchanged in the partial and unofficial count of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV).

Grace Poe of Team PNoy remained on top of the senatorial race, based on partial and unofficial results of election watchdog PPCRV early Tuesday.

As of 12:17 a.m., with 52.2 percent of votes streamed or 40,815 of 78,166 precincts, nine Team PNoy bets remained in Magic 12, while three were from United Nationalist Alliance.

Poe of Team PNoy, former chairperson of Movie and Television Review and Classification Board and daughter of the late action star Fernando Poe Jr. and actress Susan Roces, has 11,783,599 votes.

Re-electionist senator Loren Legarda also of Team PNoy is in second place with 9,754,464 votes.

The leading candidate from UNA is Nancy Binay, with 9,421,886 votes. Other UNA bets in the top 12 are San Juan Representative JV Ejercito and Re-electionist Senator Gringo Honasan.

Former Senators Richard Gordon, Migs Zubiri and Jun Magsaysay are in Top 13-15.
