MANILA, Philippines – A grenade explosion injured four persons at a polling center in Marawi City Monday afternoon, a poll watchdog said.

The Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) relayed the report from Fr. David Procalla of the Archdiocese of Cotabato.

An officer of the PPCRV said that the grenade was thrown on the rooftop of the Cabingan Primary School, Cabingan village.

The grenade, however, fell and exploded on the ground, injuring the victims who were identified as Lupinta Lembae, Jabar Pagayukan, Abdullah Pagayukan and Dalupito Salic, the report said.

The victims were rushed to hospital for medical treatment, said the PPCRV.
