MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) formally convened as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC) early Monday evening to prepare for the canvassing of votes all over the country.
Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes Jr., along with the rest of the commissioners, convened the board around 6:15 p.m. to lay down their procedures for the canvassing.
The NBOC however, adjourned immediately since the election results would come in after 7 p.m. when the precincts have closed.
Some 36,772 voting centers will transmit the election results to the Comelec command center in PICC once voting ends.
There are 77,829 clustered precincts nationwide where 52 million registered voters had cast their ballots for the second ever automated elections.
