Election officer claims getting ‘text threat’ due to PCOS glitches

02:05 PM May 13, 2013

MALAYBALAY CITY, Bukidnon–The election officer in Valencia City has allegedly received a “threat” by text message blaming him for the glitches in the precinct count optical scan machines at the start of voting on Monday morning.

But lawyer Chubasco Cenen Caina, an election officer, said the five PCOS machines that encountered some problems, have already been replaced.

“I don’t know why they blame us. I received this text message threatening me,” said Caina but did not specify exactly what the text message said.

He said that after leaving Valencia City, there was a small group of protesters outside their office accusing them of having a hand in the PCOS machine failure.
