Voter killed, 5 others wounded in Sulu
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines—A voter was killed while five others were wounded when unidentified men fired at a convoy of voters in Tiptipon village in Panglima Estino town in Sulu on Monday morning.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Freyra, the Sulu Provincial Police Director, said the victims were on their way to cast their ballot.
Panglima Estino Mayor Munib Estino told the Inquirer that the voters were escorted by the police and military, but “unfortunately, the victims’ vehicle were on the rear side of the convoy.”
Estino identified the fatality as Mardimar Sabri.
