Blackwater shoots for semis seat

/ 06:12 AM May 13, 2013

The Blackwater Sports Elite try to get the job done and clinch an outright berth in the semifinals as they take on the Hog’s Breath Café today in the PBA D-League Foundation Cup over at the JCSGO Gym in Quezon City.

The Elite were denied twice in their bid to automatically qualify for the semifinals and eventually relinquished the top spot to the reigning champions NLEX Road Warriors.

Now, they are hard-pressed to win their last assignment against the lowly Razorbacks.

Still with a chance of gaining an outright entry in the semifinal, Fruitas also goes for a crucial win against Café France (5-5) in their 12 noon encounter.

The Bakers, their playoff bid ruined by a three-game losing streak, look to close out their campaign with a victory in the hope to still make the it to the next round.

Another loss would be a blow to the Elite because a potential tie with the Fruitas Shakers (6-3) would bump them off the Top 2 spots and will have settle for a quarterfinal berth. Fruitas holds the advantage over Blackwater Sports by virtue of the winner-over-the-other rule. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
