Namfrel’s high-tech operations center ready for Monday polls

MANILA, Philippines–The National Citizens’ Movement for Free Elections (Namfrel) opened Sunday a headquarters in Mandaluyong City for its midterm election watch.

A Mass, presided by Father Broderick Pabillo, was held to bless the third floor of the Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) building on Shaw Boulevard in Mandaluyong City. It will house the National Operations Center of Namfrel for the Monday polls.

The National Operations Center comes fully prepared with Internet technology for efficient monitoring and reporting systems, hotline numbers to enable citizen engagement, and a team of volunteers, organizers said.

They said for incident reports, Namfrel may be reached through (02)9420918 or via SMS at +639984582009. The line will be opened from 6 a.m. Monday until 6 a.m. Wednesday.

Namfrel Chairperson Corazon Dela Paz–Bernardo called on all its volunteers to “make a difference, perform your task with courage, honor and joy, because this is who you are as Filipinos.”
