Do-or-die game for Global FC today against Kyrgyzstan

Games today:

4:30 p.m. – KRL (Pakistan) vs Yeedzin (Bhutan)

7:30 p.m – Global FC (Philippines) vs Dordoi Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan)

IT WILL BE a do or die for Global FC of the Philippines as it faces two-time champion Dordoi Bishkek of Kyrgyzstan in its final match as the Group B qualifiers of the 2013 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) President’s Cup comes to an end today at the Cebu City Sports Center (CCSC).

Prior to the Global FC vs Dordoi Bishkek match, KRL of Pakistan will face Yeedzin of Bhutan.

Global FC will have to win this match against Dordoi Bishkek to advance to the final stage of the tournament slated  September.

Global FC placed itself in a must-win situation after bowing to KRL, 0-2, last Friday and dropped itself to the third spot in the Group with only three points.

Only the top two teams will advance to the final stage.

Global FC head coach Brian Reid said they cannot afford to lose the match because they have committed to the tournament. He said that he will not be making a big adjustment in their final match despite its loss against KRL.

“I can’t be disappointed with their performance. We were the better team, unfortunately the score did not reflect that,” Reid said. He added though that they have to take every chance they get to score a goal and continue to work on their ball possession./CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
