MANILA, Philippines—A fire that hit a residential area in Makati City Friday was put out after it gutted a still undermined number of houses, a Bureau of Fire Protection officer said.
The fire, which razed houses in Teachers Compound West Rembo village, in Guadalupe was declared under control at 4:15 p.m., said Fire Officer 3 Louie Abenales. It started at around 2 p.m. and reached Task Force Alpha at around 3:20 p.m.
