CAMP VICENTE LIM—Four buses carrying supporters of the Revillas in Cavite were held by the police in Bacoor City over alleged vote-buying.
The buses, full of residents from the Revillas’ bailiwick Bacoor City, were on their way to Island Cove in Kawit town when they were held by members of the Cavite police and the police Regional Mobile Group past noon on Wednesday.
The buses are allegedly being used to herd voters to the resort owned by the family of Revilla’s ally, reelectionist Cavite Gov. Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla, according to a police source who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Remulla is seeking reelection with Jolo Revilla, son of Sen. Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., as his running mate.
The source said some of the passengers carried envelopes that each contained sample ballots bearing the names of Remulla and Revilla and P200 in cash.
The source said one of the buses was taken to the provincial police office in Imus City but three had been released through the intervention of the senator.
