MANILA, Philippines — Electricity was restored in Metro Manila areas affected by the power outage Wednesday, the Manila Electric Co. said in its advisory posted on its Facebook account.
Power supply was back at 9:46 p.m., Meralco said and advised those who still have no electricity to “message us your Service Identification Number (SIN) and contact number/s or call our Hotline numbers 16211 and 631-11-11 for the necessary report”.
“You may also send a text message (SMS) to mobile numbers 0920-971-6211or 0917-551-6211,” it said.
Parts of the metro and Luzon were hit by power outage after 5 major plants shut down when their transmission lines tripped.
The incident happened just days before the national and local elections on May 13, raising fears of “sabotage” on the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) to be used by voters in casting their ballots.
