CEBUANO junior netter Arthur Craig ‘Igi’ Diaz Pantino advanced to the third round in two categories in the ongoing Group 1 Olivarez-Philippine Tennis Association (Philta) Open Tennis Championships in Manila.
The 10-year-old tennis player, who is seeded 14th, will have a tough task ahead as he goes up against second-seed Marcen Angelo Gonzales in the third round of the 14-under. He defeated Vincent Anida, 6-1, 6-0, in the second round.
In the 12-under, Pantino, who is seeded 7th, will face 9th-seed Joseph Gabriel Tiamson tomorrow. He advanced after routing Alexander Bulilan, 6-1, 6-1.
The University of San Carlos (USC) student advanced to the second round in both categories after receiving a bye in the first round.
