BUS KILLS BOY

A SIX-YEAR-OLD boy was killed after he was hit by a passenger bus in barangay Bagay, Daanbantayan town, northern Cebu.

Nathaniel Gastador suffered injuries in the head and body.

The boy was walking along a road with his 18-year-old sister Friday afternoon when he suddenly crossed the road, PO3 Dennis Velez, investigator of Daanbantayan police, said.

ROB SUSPECT NABBED

A MAN whom police suspected to be a robber was arrested in a checkpoint in barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

Lito Vargas was arrested shortly after a jeepney robbery occurred around 9 a.m. yesterday.

Police frisked Vargas after he was apprehended and found three cellphones, a silver necklace, a knife and a stick of marijuana from his possession.

CARMEN FIRE RAZES 5 HOUSES

FIVE houses were razed by fire in barangay Puente, Carmen town, northern Cebu last Friday afternoon.

The fire started at the house of Concordio Monteroyo, PO2 Jerome Quimque, desk officer of Carmen police, said.

Police said a container full of gasoline was kept in the kitchen of Monteroyo’s house.

It was possible that the gasoline caught fire, police said.

The fire quickly spread since the houses were made of light materials.

Fire damage was pegged at P200,000, said police./CORRESPONDENT GABRIEL C. BONJOC-

PUJ DRIVER

STABS DISPATCHER

A DRIVER of a passenger jeepney stabbed a dispatcher in barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City.

The driver escaped after the incident. He was not immediately identified.

Police said the victim, Baltazar Abanid, 29, helped the driver  call for passengers on Natalio Bacalso Avenue on Friday night.

Later, Abanid, a resident of barangay Labangon, Cebu City, asked for some loose coins from the driver.

The driver didn’t give anything.

Police said Abanid got irked and hit the side of the jeepney.

The driver got off and stabbed Abanid in the right side of the body.
