The Gaisano Capital South-University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters got right back into the thick of things as they rebounded from their previous loss and clobbered the listless Raphael’s Sports Bar-University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Jaguars, 85-72, in the 2013 Enervon-Cesafi Partner’s Cup yesterday at the Cebu Coliseum.
The Webmasters had their four-game winning streak snapped the last time out at the hands of the Cebu Landmasters-University of San Carlos (USC) Warriors, 78-91. But Gaisano Capital South were a determined bunch against the Jaguars as they dominated the match behind the stellar guard play of sophomore sensation Kido Cabrera.
The Fil-American rebounded from his poor outing last week by pouring in 21 points. He also got plenty of help from reinforcement Arnaud Noah, who knocked in 17 markers as UC improved to 5-2 (win-loss).
USJ-R got 13 from former University of the East gunner BJ Zosa but fell to its eighth defeat in a row and remains winless in this preseason tournament.
In the first game, the San Marino Corned Tuna-Cebu Institute of Technology-University (CIT-U) Wildcats beat the USC Warriors, 90-83.
John dela Cerna pumped in 19 points while Jeffrey Taghoy added 12 for CIT-U, which notched its third win in seven games. USC fell to 4-3.
