MANILA, Philippines– “I have no interest in him,” Senator Panfilo Lacson on Thursday said of his former aide, former police officer Cezar Mancao.
Lacson was reacting to Mancao’s insinuation that he was behind the move to transfer him from the National Bureau of Investigation to the Manila City Jail.
Mancao worked for Lacson when the latter was still head of the defunct Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Task Force.
“His (Mancao) escape is his problem as well as that of his custodians,” Lacson said in a text message to reporters.
Mancao, who has been detained for the double murders of publicist Salvador “Bubby” Dacer and driver Emmanuel Corbito in 2000, escaped from the NBI early Thursday.
Lacson had also been accused for the killings but later cleared by the court.
