Dagupan judge butchered by disgruntled household help-CIDG

MANILA, Philippines–Seven arrested household helpers admitted that they murdered a retired lady judge in Dagupan City for not treating them well.

This was revealed on Thursday by Director Samuel Pagdilao, chief of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) .

Pagdilao identified the suspects  in the murder of the 80-year old retired lady judge Corazon Merrera as Genny Romano, 22; Christian Benedict Lagatao, 20; John-John Basa alias Romelie, 22; Jeriel Cadelina, 21; Felipe Quillope, 47; Jacob Mendiola, 19; and Michael de Guzman

The suspects reportedly confessed that they murdered the former lady judge as a reprisal for not treating them well. They alleged that they were paid low salaries, and given few provisions, said Pagdilao.

A written confession from Romano, one of the suspects was submitted to the prosecutor’s office as additional evidence. His statements led to the arrest of other suspects, said Pagdilao.

Pagdilao said that victim Merrera was found dead with stab wounds by his 49-year old son Roberto III around 7:45 in the morning last August 6 at her house in 2140 Trinidad Subdivision, Arellano Bani, Dagupan City.
