Why Kris Aquino is fully backing Escudero

GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines –A “birthday gift” for re-electionist Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero was how popular TV host Kris Aquino explained why she joined his campaign here on Thursday.

Aquino herself, at a press conference here, revealed that she got text messages from some senatorial candidates asking why she did not also bring them in the sortie.

“Actually kasi, October 10, noong birthday ni Chiz ang niregalo ko sa kanya talaga, sabi ko, dun sa last stretch of the campaign, bring me anywhere you want,” she said.

What she didn’t realize though when she promised to give Escudero her whole day, Aquino said, was that  it would start at 3:30 a.m.  and would end at midnight.

“Ang haba ng togetherness natin,” she told the senator, who was seated beside her.

Aquino and Escudero, along with another Team PNoy senatorial bet, former MTRCB chairperson Grace Poe,  arrived here past 7a.m.  and  immediately proceeded with a motorcade and media  interviews.

“I got three different texts from three other senatorial candidates. Bakit hindi ko daw sila sinama. Sabi ko si Chiz kasi ang gumawa ng schedule. Lagot ka,” she said in jest.

When teased by a reporter that  Escudero’s girlfriend, actress Heart Evangelista , might get jealous of her,   Aquino said she doesn’t think so and added that the senator had in fact sought her help to  find an anniversary gift for  Evangelista.

Aquino is also backing another re-electionist Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and  would campaign for  another two Team PNoy bets—Aurora Representative  Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara and  her cousin, Bam Aquino— in the next few days.
