MANILA, Philippines—National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Nonnatus Rojas on Thursday said they have already ordered a manhunt for former police officer Cezar Mancao.
“We have alerted all our units nationwide for the manhunt and is now conducting full investigation to pinpoint persons responsible for the escape who shall be dealt with criminal and administrative charges,” Rojas said in a statement.
Rojas said he already ordered the Bureau’s Criminal Intelligence Division to handle the investigation.
Mancao escaped from NBI custody early morning Thursday after learning that he will be transferred to the Manila City Jail.
Justice Secretary Leila De Lima said she called Mancao who apologized for his acts and told her that he escaped because he will be killed if he will be transferred to City Jail.
