Kris Aquino clams up on question if she would support all Team PNoy bets

GENERAL   SANTOS CITY, Philippines –Rather   than tell a lie and “out of respect” for her brother, popular TV host Kris Aquino chose to keep mum on Thursday when asked if she would support the entire senatorial slate of Team PNoy.

Kris is the youngest sister of President Benigno Aquino III, who is campaigning hard to get a 12-0 victory for Team PNoy in the May 13 elections.

But at a press conference here, Kris chose not to tell a “lie” when initially asked if she would endorse all 12 senatorial candidates of Team PNoy.

“Kung meron mang iba, huwag ko na lang banggitin,”   said Kris, who flew in here to campaign for re-electionist Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero and former MTRCB chairperson Grace Poe.

Aside from Escudero and Poe, Kris said she also campaigned for re-electionist Senator Alan Peter Cayetano Wednesday. She said she would also campaign for two other senatorial bets – Aurora Representative Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, and her cousin, Bam Aquino in the next few days.

Escudero, Poe, Cayetano, Angara and Bam Aquino are all running under Team PNoy.

Although she was openly supporting the re-election bid of Makati Mayor Jun-Jun Binay, Kris preferred to keep silent when pressed if she would also back the mayor’s sister, Nancy Binay, who is running for senator under the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA).

The siblings both belong to UNA being headed by their father, Vice President Jejomar Binay, and former President Joseph Estrada.

So when asked if she was also close to Nancy, Kris    quickly answered, “Yes but her younger sister Anne-Anne is one of my closest friends.”

“I know the follow up question already. Out of respect for my brother, I won’t answer that and in the interest of my telling the truth, I also won’t answer that,” the TV host added.
