Former Miss Earth Karla Paula Henry stabbed, survives

MANILA, Philippines – Miss Earth 2008 Karla Paula Henry was stabbed by a drunken man at the condominium where she was staying Thursday morning but survived, police said.

Senior Police Officer 1 Joel Macabasag said Henry was on her way down of the California Garden Square when the suspect, Jerome Quibuyen, stabbed her on the back at around 6 a.m.

Quibuyen used a broken beer bottle, said the policeman.

Macabasag could not say whether the suspect was a tenant of the building but said that he was arrested and was undergoing inquest proceedings as of posting time.

The beauty queen was rushed to the Victor Potenciano Medical Center, said Macabasag but added that she may have been transferred as disclosed that she was recuperating at the St. Luke’s Medical Center Global City.
