THE MANDAUE MAYOR’S Cup Open Chess Tournament will be held this weekend at the J Center Mall along A.S. Fortuna Street in Mandaue City.
The tournament will have 18-above and 17-below categories using a nine-round Swiss System format.
Registration fee for the 18-above is pegged at P250 while the 17-below is pegged at P200. Organizers will give free slots to all registered voters of Mandaue City.
The deadline of registration will be today at the Mandaue City Cultural and Sports Complex.
Cash prizes will be given the winners in each category. The champions in both categories will get P10,000 while P5,000 goes to the second placers. Third placers will win P3,000./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
