Carcar shooting

An unidentified gunman shot and wounded a 19-year-old man  in barangay Poblacion, Carcar City last Friday night.

Mark Jun Alinton of barangay Bolinawan was rushed to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center where he was recuperating from his wound.

Investigation showed that Alinton was watching a variety show at the town plaza when he was shot.

Rape suspect

A man accused of raping and robbing her neighbor in barangay Alang-Alang, Mandaue City was arrested yesterday.

The woman told police that Janel Catadman, 29, forcibly entered her rented house at 2 a.m. yesterday allegedly raped her and took her wallet with P200 inside.

Drug bust

A female drug suspect was arrested yesterday during a buy-bust operation in sitio Ihawan, barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City.

Police collared Rowena Tampus, 42, of barangay Mantuyong after she handed over a pack of suspected shabu to a police decoy.

Purisimo Sorono, 24, of sitio Guizo, suspected to be a buyer, was also arrested during the operation.

Bike and votes

Policemen will ride their bikes around Mandaue City to encourage voters not to sell their votes in  coming elections.

Senior Supt. Petronelli Baldebrin, Mandaue City Police Chief, said they organized the “Bike for SAFE” event as a form of information drive to encourage voters to protect the sanctity of their votes.
