MANILA, Philippines—An ice dealer was gunned down Saturday morning at a public market in Quezon City in front of his 14-year-old son, who told investigators one of the two assailants used his father’s own gun.
Ronnie Estiller, 46, died on the spot at his stall at the Commonwealth Market from six gunshot wounds, case investigator Police Officer 2 George Caculba said.
According to Caculba, the victim’s son, Denmark, told police he was with his father tending their ice stall when two unidentified men walked toward them around 8:20 a.m. Without warning, one of the men suddenly grabbed Estiller’s .45-caliber pistol, which was tucked in the merchant’s waist, and shot him with it.
Then other man, using his own .45-caliber gun, fired more shots until Estiller fell and died, Caculba said.
