1 of 5 Pasig jail escapees surrenders

MANILA, Philippines—One of the five men who escaped from the Pasig City Jail Friday has surrendered to the authorities, a police official said Saturday.

Chief Superintendent Miguel Laurel, Eastern Police District director, said Marlon Palacio, who faces robbery charges, surrendered to EPD authorities shortly after noon Saturday with the help of a local candidate.

With Palacio’s surrender, the authorities now have only three escapees to recapture. Earlier, Laurel said, Patrick Espinosa, who faces charges of  attempted and frustrated homicide, was captured by authorities in Tanay, Rizal.
