THE Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO) was adjudged the best police station in Central Visayas and ranked fourth overall in the country.

Senior Supt. Noel Gillamac, director of MCPO, said implementing programs like Oplan Bakal and Oplan Kalikasan and its aggressive campaign against criminality and illegal drugs helped the police win the award given by the national headquarters of the Philippine National Police.

The MCPO also has programs to improve community relations.

Gillamac said some may question the MCPO for unsolved cases but solving crimes is not only the responsibility of the police but by the entire community.

No matter how hard they try, Gillamac said there are just cases that are difficult to solve.

“Policemen are also human beings. We don’t possess super human powers. Although expectations from us are high, we still need support from the stakeholders. It’s everybody’s concern,” Gillamac said.
