MANILA, Philippines—Northerners may get a respite from the summer heat, thanks to the tip of a cold front affecting extreme Northern Luzon, the state weather bureau said Friday.
Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rain showers and thunderstorms due to the diffused tail-end of a cold front affecting the northern parts of the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
In its outlook for Saturday, the weather bureau said Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the northeast are predicted to prevail over extreme Northern Luzon, causing the coastal waters to be moderately to occasionally rough, Pagasa said.
“Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the east to northeast with slight to moderate seas,” it added.
Pagasa also issued a special extended weather outlook for Davao Oriental and Compostela Valley, two of the provinces hardest hit by Typhoon Pablo last December.
It said the two provinces will be partly cloudy to at times cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms from Saturday to Monday.
