Cebuano Donayre arrives in Manila for URCC tiff

UNDEFEATED Cebuano MMA fighter Vaughn “Spawn” Donayreof the YawYan ArDigma and Deftac Cebu arrived Manila late last night ready for his “URCC: Unrivaled” fight against URCC title contender Rex Delara of the Ilo-ilo Combat Sports in Manila tomorrow at the SMX Convention Center.

Donayre is in Manila together with YawYan Ardigma chief Master Benigno “Ekin” Caniga Jr. and Deftac Cebu chief Norman Go, who will also be at the corner for Donayre’s title eliminator bout.

The winner of the Donayre-Delara duel will have a chance to fight for the URCC lightweight division crown.

“We are 100 percent ready and as far as I know our fighter (Donayre) is in tip-top shape,” said Caniga Jr.

Donayre will be featured in the seventh of the 10 fights scheduled Saturday night.

Other bouts include: Roy Doliguez of Elorde MMA vs. Lito Adiwang of Tribal Submission; Onyok Transmonte of Map/Sub Sport vs. Chinese Suri Guga of Ao Hai Ling MMA in the bantamweight division; Mark Somes of Freestyle MMA vs. Melchor Cases in the middle weight division; Qing Long vs. YawYan Kampilan’s MJ Abrillo (flyweight); Fei Guo Lin also of Ao Hai Ling MMA vs. YawYan Buhawi’s Alvin Ramirez (bantamweight); Edmund Velasco of Team Torogi vs. Angelito Manguray; Arvin Chan of D’ Elements/Safehouse vs. Froilan Sarenas of Submission Sports Philippines; Andrew Benibe of Maic’s Gym vs. Will Chope of Phuket Top Team Thailand in the featherweight division; and Dave Galera of the famed Lakay MMA of Baguio City vs. Red Romero of Deftac in the bantamweight class. /CORRESPONDENT DALE G.
