Manhunt ops still on for one last fugitive in Negros Occidental
MANILA, Philippines—Manhunt operations continue for one more inmate who bolted out of jail in Negros Occidental, following the surrender of another escapee Thursday, police said.
In a report, Chief Inspector Edel Jose Manzano, Sagay City chief of police, identified the recaptured inmate as Marjon “Toto” Bandala, 24, who is among the 13 inmates who escaped from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology cell in Sagay City, Negros Occidental last Wednesday.
Most of the escapees were facing murder charges.
He said Bandala, who is among those slapped with murder charges, signified his willingness to surrender through Fabrica village chief Merle Demavibas.
A team was then formed to recapture Bandala, who was eventually taken into police custody around 7:40 a.m., Manzano said.
With the arrest of Bandala and 11 others, manhunt operations continue for just one more escapee identified as Eric Cordero.
