MANILA, Philippines—The Sandiganbayan on Thursday ordered the arrest of retired Lieutenant General Jacinto Ligot in connection with the numerous false declarations in his statements of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALN) from 1993 to 2003.

At the same time, the anti-graft court’s first division through its chairman Associate Justice Efren Dela Cruz also issued a hold-departure order against the former military officer.

The arrest order came after Ombudsman Conchita Carpio-Morales on April 5 denied the motion for reconsideration filed by Ligot to exclude Ligot’s interest in Parmil Farms, Inc.

The Order found that Ligot’s interest in Parmil Farms, Inc. was declared in his SALNs for the years 2001 to 2003 as the SALN form requires only the declaration of business and financial interest.
