THE seventh-ranked Las Vegas KTV-M16 Disco ’94 kept their season alive as they rallied behind the stellar play of Anwar Satina to beat the Dimsum Frito 2003, 53-50, in the quarterfinal round of the Cebu Eastern College Alumni Basketball Association’s 12th Dr. Chen Lieh Fu Memorial Cup last Tuesday night at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.
Satina scored a game-high 21 points to help nullify Dimsum Frito’s twice-to-beat advantage and send their affair to a do-or-die game for the right to advance to the semifinals. Already booked in the next round are Shell ’80s, First Family Appliance Circle ’96 and Dewfoam ’88.
Satina got support from former collegiate basketball star Wellington Yu, who finished with 14 points. Joey Catipay paced Class 2003 with 17 points, while Jim Paul Yankee cashed in 11 markers in a losing cause. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
