The man who robbed and shot dead a loan relations officer of a lending firm along A.S. Fortuna Street, barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City was a former boyfriend of the victim, police said.
Chief Insp. Michael Anthony Bastes, chief of the Investigation and Detective Branch, said that they were 90 percent sure that this was the man who killed Lyriza Amar, 24, of Bago City, Negros Occidental, last April 17.
“Manag-uyab man kono ni sila sa una based sa among na gather na information (They had a relationship according to the information we gathered),” Bastes told Cebu Daily News yesterday morning while pointing out that the suspect may have gained information about the routine of the victim in going to the bank.
Amar was killed minutes after withdrawing money from a bank inside a mall along A,S. Fortuna Street, barangay Bakilid, Mandaue City on April 17 around 10 am.
About P90,000 of the money was intended for the pensioners while the P10,000 was for the ZFA Credit Corporations funds.
Bastes said that they were looking for the former boyfriend.
Bastes said that the suspect was spotted last week wearing a red-hooded jacket, similar to the one worn by the gunman who killed Amar.
