Winless SWU faces Lyceum today

07:05 AM April 24, 2013

THE Southwestern University (SWU) Cobras continue their search for a first win in the FilOil Flying V Hanes Preseason Cup when they battle against the Lyceum Pirates today at the Arena in San Juan City.

The campaign has been a disastrous one so far for the reigning Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) men’s basketball champions as they have lost their first four games, the last one coming at the hands of the San Sebastian Stags, 74-83.

In other games today, reigning UAAP MVP Bobby Ray Parks and the rest of the National University Bulldogs face off versus the St. Benilde Blazers while the Ateneo Blue Eagles aim for their fifth win in six games when they tackle the University of the East Red Warriors.

The Eagles bounced back from their previous loss to the University of Santo Tomas in a huge way, winning over the Letran Knights, 88-81, with Kiefer “The Phenom” Ravena tallying a whopping 33 points.  /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
