MANILA, Philippines – Four people including three police officers were arrested Sunday for allegedly selling P5 million worth of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, or shabu, in Pasay City, police said Monday.
Philippine National Police’s Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission identified the suspects as Police Officer 1 Jonathan Barredo, his partner Maria Yehlen Felipe; PO1 Josephine Bulus Peñaloso, and PO2 Marc Lawrence Galos Felipe.
The report said the four were arrested by combined operatives of the PAOCC, the PNP-AIDSOTF and the Naval Intelligence Security Force during an entrapment operation at the parking area of Resorts World in New Port City, New Port Complex in Villamor Air Base, Pasay City around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
It said the operation was prompted by a report claiming that the suspects are involved in illegal drug activities.
Along with the kilo of shabu, police also confiscated a 9mm semi-automatic pistol and a white Nissan Urvan (PQP-455) from one of the suspects.
The four, who are detained at the AIDSOTF detention center in Camp Crame, will be charge with violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
