Gunmen on bike kill Quezon City trike driver, wound boy

A tricycle driver was killed while two bystanders, including a 12-year-old boy, were wounded by stray bullets in an attack by two men on a motorcycle Saturday afternoon in Quezon City.

Leonardo Rey Gacutan, 28, of San Diego Street in Barangay (village) Commonwealth, died at Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation medical center four hours after the shooting.

Felix Andrew Duque, 12, was hit in the stomach and left arm and remained confined at East Avenue Medical Center, while 22-year-old Renie Villa was grazed by a bullet on his left hand.

PO2 Hermogenes Capili of the Quezon City Police District’s Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit said Gagutan was driving his tricycle around 4 p.m. when the attackers blocked his path and fired at him on Villongco Street in Barangay Commonwealth.—Jeannette I. Andrade
