Did you know: Illegal possession of firearms

In 2012, over 5,300 persons were arrested for violating Republic Act No. 8294, or the law against illegal possession of firearms, according to the recent accomplishment report of the Philippine National Police. According to the report, the PNP also confiscated around 8,000 loose firearms in the same year.—Schatzi Quodala, Inquirer Research
