2 of 13 jail escapees recaptured
MANILA, Philippines—Two of the 13 inmates who bolted out of jail in Negros Occidental Wednesday have been recaptured Friday afternoon, police said.
Chief Superintendent Agrimero Cruz Jr., Region VI police director, said personnel of Cadiz City police recaptured escapees Rolando Bajo and Jake Española around 4 p.m.
Both are facing murder charges, he said.
During the jail break at the Bureau of Jail Management Penology in Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Wednesday, Bajo was the one who allegedly pointed a caliber .38 revolver to duty jailguard Jover Valenzuela, while another disarmed him.
Bajo was also the one who shot and destroyed the padlock of the detention cell’s main entrance.
With the arrest of Bajo and Española, 11 more inmates remain subject of manhunt operations.
