CEBU CITY, Philippines — President Benigno Aquino III joined the nine Team PNoy senatorial candidates who appeared in a campain sortie here attended by thousands of people on Friday.
Aquino arrived at the Capitol Grounds shortly after 5:50 p.m. along with Local Government Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas, and other Malacanang and local officials.
Only three of the 12 senatorial bets were absent in the sortie — re-electionist Senators Alan Peter Cayetano and Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV and former Las Pinas Representative Cynthia Villar.
The nine candidates who showed up were re-electionist Senators Francis “Chiz” Escudero, Loren Legarda and Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III, former Senators Ramon “Jun” Magsasay Jr, Maria Ana Consuelo “Jamby” Madrigal, Aurora Representative Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara, former MTRCB chairman Grace Poe, former Akbayan Representative Risa Hontiveros, and Paolo Benigno “Bam” Aquino IV.
